Two types of UI
May 20, 2026
The next decade of UI will follow 2 patterns. Both disposable.
1. Confirmation UI.
You hand the system a goal — "handle this thread," "book something next week," "fix whatever's broken here".
An ambient layer informs agents how to execute those goals across whatever systems they need.
UI shows up at the end for approvals, corrections, or overrides. The UI moment is brief, generated live, and specific to the decision in front of you.
2. Interpretation UI.
Here, you're querying AI to reveal patterns, tradeoffs, anomalies or options. All from a defined data set.
The system constructs the view for the question, lets you compare, lets you export it where it's useful — and then that view disappears too.
Every screen built for one moment, then thrown away.
